What to do
The Altay region offers breathtaking landscapes, from towering mountains and vast steppes to pristine rivers and lakes. Whether you’re into outdoor adventures or simply looking to unwind in nature’s beauty, the Altay has something unforgettable for everyone.
Throughout the flight, we’ll pass over protected areas. If we’re lucky, we might spot marals, mountain goats, and argali basking on the sunlit southern slopes of the ridges.
Winter Fishing on the Biya River
The Biya is the only river that flows from Lake Teletskoye. We’ll drive to the fishing spot, accompanied by a local fisherman who will guide us to the best location for the season. Fish species include whitefish, grayling, and lenok, with catches depending on the month and ice conditions.
After fishing, enjoy a picnic lunch in a tent prepared by a chef, complete with fresh fish soup and warming local infusions.
Snowmobile Adventure Through the Priteletskaya Taiga
Today promises an exhilarating ride through the deep snow and unique beauty of the true winter taiga. With a local guide, we’ll set out on snowmobiles along winding trails that weave among towering, centuries-old fir and cedar trees. Part of the route crosses the frozen lake, offering a thrilling experience as you speed over Lake Teletskoye’s ice—almost like a motorboat on water, but on ice!
Helicopter Tour: Lake Teletskoye and the Chulyshman River Canyon
The Chulyshman is the largest tributary of Lake Teletskoye, flowing through a massive tectonic fault and forming a grand canyon with steep cliffs. Alongside Mount Belukha, the Chulyshman River Canyon is considered one of the most impressive places in the Altay region.
Helicopter Tour to Mount Belukha
We invite you on a flight to the highest peak of the Altay and Siberia—Mount Belukha (4,509 m). This journey will be one of the most unforgettable experiences in the Altay. The helicopter will take you to the southernmost part of the Altay region, near the border with Kazakhstan, in the mountains of the Katun Range. To reach this destination, you’ll fly over the entire territory of the Altay Republic.
Evening of Altay Throat Singing
Spend an evening immersed in Altay’s national culture with a concert of traditional throat singing. A kai-chi, a skilled throat singer, will perform folk epics and offer a masterclass in playing national instruments. Throat singing is a unique, mystical performance tradition of the peoples of Northern Eurasia and is included in UNESCO’s World Heritage List. This evening, you’ll also have the chance to try on traditional Altay attire and experience the spirit of a true shaman.
The Altay offers a journey like no other—a blend of breathtaking landscapes, thrilling outdoor adventures, and deep cultural immersion. From the rugged mountains and serene lakes to ancient traditions and local flavors, every moment here leaves a lasting impression. Embrace the wild beauty and soulful heritage of Altay for an adventure you’ll never forget.
